You know that feeling when your heart swells up in a way that it feels like it's about to burst but instead tears come flowing and the world is just complete. Even if for a moment.
I was blessed to have such a moment yesterday, when a little student ran up to me at the high school graduation and gave me a big hug. As I squeezed her back, she broke into a loud and beautiful recitation of Surah An Naaziat. She is one of the most challenging trouble-makers among the hundred students that I teach.
I could feel my heart grow fuller and my face glow. My life, at that moment, was complete. My heart is happier and footsteps springier knowing that I made a difference...even if it was that one little child associates Qur'an with my face. I couldn't be more thankful to Allah swt.
I will go and build a dam to hold my tears in now.
